The curtain has been raised on the 2025 amateur golfing calendar as the Golf Ireland Season Launch took place in Carton House last night.

The event, hosted by TV & Radio Sports Broadcaster, Aisling O’Reilly welcomed almost 100 guests from across the Irish sporting world including members of the media, Golf Ireland sponsors, and representatives from clubs hosting some of the much-anticipated Irish amateur championships.

Recently appointed Golf Ireland President, Michael Evans and Golf Ireland CEO Mark Kennelly got proceedings underway before three panels of special guests took to the stage to discuss the upcoming amateur season, the return of The Open to Ireland and life on the professional tour.

Four-time DP World Tour winner and Ryder Cup winning Captain, Paul McGinley was guest of honour on the evening, giving some valuable insights into the professional game while also casting his eye over The Masters in which he believes the Irish contingent of Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry could be serious contenders to don the green jacket.
