Salinda isn’t just another name on the leaderboard; he’s a player with real potential. His third-place finish at the Mexico Open put him on the radar, and he’s been building momentum ever since. He spoke to us about his journey, grinding through college golf at Stanford, working his way up through the Korn Ferry Tour, and now finding his footing on the PGA Tour.

One thing that stands out about Salinda is his attitude. He’s got that quiet confidence, the kind that lets you know he believes he belongs at this level, even if he’s still adjusting to life on the big stage. It’s easy to forget that the PGA Tour can be a shock to the system for rookies. The courses are tougher, the fields are deeper, and the pressure is relentless. But Salinda seems to be handling it all in stride.

One of the most interesting parts of our conversation was when Isaiah talked about the current state of the PGA Tour and how he wants to shake things up a bit. Let’s be real—golf doesn’t exactly have a reputation for being the most exciting or diverse sport. There’s a certain “way things are done” on Tour, and a lot of players fit into a pretty standard mold. But Salinda? He wants to bring more personality to the game.

He talks about how he sees a lot of guys out there who feel kind of, well, vanilla. Not that they’re not great golfers, but there’s a certain sameness to the way many of them carry themselves. Salinda wants to be different. He wants to show that golf doesn’t have to be buttoned-up and robotic.

He’s also got a great perspective on growing the game. He knows that if golf is going to appeal to a younger, more diverse audience, it needs players who bring some energy and individuality to the mix. It’s refreshing to hear someone on the PGA Tour talk openly about this because, let’s be honest, the sport could use a little more personality at the top level.

Beyond golf, Salinda has a lot of interests that make him stand out. He’s not just spending every waking moment thinking about his swing or obsessing over stats. He’s big on keeping a balance between life and golf, something that a lot of young players struggle with when they first turn pro.

He spoke about some of his hobbies, what he does to unwind, and how he stays mentally fresh during long stretches on the road. It’s always interesting to hear how players handle the lifestyle side of professional golf because the constant travel and competition can wear anyone down.

And speaking of travel—Salinda has some thoughts on the food scene at various Tour stops. This part of the chat is hilarious because every golfer has their own take on where to find the best and worst meals on the road. He dishes on some of his best (and worst) eating experiences on Tour, which makes for some great listening.

So what’s next for Salinda? He’s still early in his rookie season, but he’s already shown that he’s got the game to compete. He talks about his goals for the year, how he’s working on different aspects of his game, and what he’s hoping to achieve in the coming months.

One thing’s for sure—he’s not just out here trying to make cuts. He wants to contend. He’s hungry to prove himself against the best in the world, and if his early results are anything to go by, he’s on the right track.

If you haven’t already, go check out the full episode with Isaiah Salinda. It’s a great listen, especially if you want to get to know one of the PGA Tour’s most exciting new players before everyone else jumps on the bandwagon.
